Is Tony Romo Fool's Gold Or Is It Just Bad Leadership

Seriously there is no athlete on the planet that can rile me up more than Tony Romo. The thing is, he has all of the tools. He can make all of the throws, he can lead, he has personality and charisma.

Americas Most Unwanted Football Players Unite

I have solved a lot of issues with players that no one wants in the NFL. It all starts with Donovan McNabb. The man gets disrespected in every city that he plays in. Obviously no one really wants him but the Vikings so it makes perfectly good sense that they sign him. Now lets make this happen.

The Vikings already have a lot of good pieces in place. They just need to revamp their offensive line and hire a new coach. That’s why they should pass on Leslie Frazier and hire a coach that no one wants anymore like ……… Wade Phillips. Wade comes in and keeps things soft so no one is going to be mad at the way they practice.

The Vikings are solid at running back as they can go 3 deep and look good, however they are a little slim at wide receiver. Let’s fix this. I like Percival Harvin and Sidney Rice but they need two more guys that can get it done. No problem, the owner loves Randall Gene Moss and word is that Terrell Eldorado Owens is available and we know that Wade loved him in Dallas.

A Message To The NFL Owners: Please Stop Recycling Coaches

The NFL needs to stop recycling bad coaches. Its apparent that very few coaches can get jobs in a field that is dominated by good ole boys. Guys like Leslie Frasier and Rob Ryan have the credentials to be head coaches but they can't get a job and are delegated to the coordinator position while the likes of Wade Phillips and others keep getting hired to run teams with little or no success.

Lets look at some of the recent hires that have done well. First you have to start in Pittsburgh. It pains me to give the Steelers props but hiring Mike Tomlin, a young coach with no head coaching experience was genius.  Tomlin has found a way to win a Super Bowl and continues to do well on a daily basis.

Last years Super Bowl Champions were lead by Sean Payton who had no head coaching experience, but he brought in a new identity and new innovation to a team that needed change and a chance to operate out of the ordinary. Payton is the anti - Parcells of all the Parcells disciples. He is a perfect mix of of old school and new school techniques and should be commended for his success.

Guys like Rex Ryan came to the Jets from the Ravens without any head coaching experience whatsoever. Rex does it with brass and emotion, and look at the success he has had. Rex led the Jets to the AFC Championship last year only to get beat by another first year head coach in Jim Caldwell of the Colts.

Cowboys Fans: Hope Is Not All Gone But It Is On Life Support

John Kitna is now the starting quarterback for the Dallas Cowboys. Let me first say that I by no means think he is as good as Tony Romo but I think this might end up being a good thing. I know it sounds kinda crazy and I have had a few drinks since Tony Romo went down last night but let me explain.

First John Kitna is a pretty good passer. He has a live arm and if given the reps can be a reputable replacement. He doesn't have the skills that a Tony Romo possesses but he offers a glimmer of hope. Now Jason Garrett will not feel obligated to throw the ball 50 plus times a game. The Cowboys game plans now should consist of shortening the game. That would mean running the football more.

The defense can't quit like they did on Monday night versus the Giants. They played like they saw a ghost and the last two touchdowns by Jacobs and Manningham were unacceptable. Once Kitna started catching up to the flow of the game he showed he could still play.

NFL Week 6: A Few Things That Got Me Heated

Week 6 in the NFL has just about passed and I have a few things that I need to get off my chest. The games have been good and the parity of the league has made things pretty interesting up until this point in the year. Each week passes and you have to feel pretty good about your teams chances because there isn’t a clear best team in the league at this point.

As I watched football Sunday a couple of things started to piss me off. I know everyone gets upset while watching games but I found myself using profanity and really steaming at various points of games so I decided to go for a jog. When I got back I was seeing more of what I had watched all morning and afternoon on TV so I decided that maybe I needed to chill on the football for a minute, but I couldn’t. So today I have decided to elaborate on what I am sick and tired of in the NFL.

  1. I am sick and tired of the NFL jockeying Brett Lorenzo Favre. At some point the NFL needs to find another golden boy. Favre is done. Listening to how the commentary for a pair of 1 – 3 teams was over the weekend, just validated that the league has who it wants to showcase regardless of the record. I mean seriously the Cowboys and the Vikings both should have been ashamed at all the hype that the game was getting. It was like Fox and ESPN were showcasing the TOILET BOWL not a regular season game. Being 1 – 3 doesn’t garner attention, it garners neglect. Come on NFL you have to do better. I don’t even care about Favre sexting. Every man I know has sent pictures of his little friend to someone he thinks might be interested. So ask me if I care.
