Plaxico Burress was released from prison Monday after serving nearly two years on a gun charge. As he left Oneida Correctional Facility in central New York Monday morning, he hugged agent Drew Rosenhaus and shook hands. He was wearing a black sweatshirt, black shorts, black sneakers and a Philadelphia Phillies hat.
According to ESPN Plaxico stated; “It’s a beautiful day. It's a beautiful day to be reunited with my family ... As far as football is concerned, if and when everything is settled and when they get back on the field, I'll be ready."
Now the ball is in Plaxico’s court. He has to make all of the right moves now as the lockout makes it harder for him to get on a teams roster. Teams have more people than they can possibly sign already and there aren’t any official workouts going on that can help them to evaluate any free agents. So Plaxico faces the dilemma that the players who didn’t get drafted in the NFL draft face at the moment. He is a talent without a team.
