The Best Beards In Sports

Growing a beard is definitely an art. A lot of guys can grow one but many can pull it off with a look that makes them worthy of the beard. Let's keep it real, some beards just look better than others. Some people were meant to have a beard. I know guys who can't grow one for anything. I recently grew one that my 6 month old daughter can't get enough of. It takes work to pull off the bearded look but it can be done if done right.

Today at Bull City, we pay homage to the bearded athlete. Today we will take a look at the 5 best beards in basketball. Being that I no longer play ball, I will disqualify myself as a candidate but I would like to add that mine would definitely not have made the top 5 list anyway. Also King James is pictured but that beard failed to make the top 5 as well. Dare I say I was closer to the top 5 than the King.

The List goes like this:

5. Gilbert Arenas – Gilbert is looking like a lost soul but his beard is great.

AFC EAST: Will The Jets Bust or Boom

For the next few entries, I have decided to spotlight each division in the NFL. We will analyze who will be the champion before the season starts. We will look at coaching, players, front office, and fanfare to determine which team will come out of their division and contend for their conference championship. Today we will start with one of the toughest divisions in football. The AFC East is made up of the Buffalo Bills, Miami Dolphins, New England Patriots, and the newly rejuvenated New York Jets.

The Buffalo Bills show up with a very limited roster. They have many holes on offense and defense. They are clearly the weakest team in the division. They don’t have a solid contributor at the quarterback position and they will be depending on a slew of unproven wide receivers to make a below average quarterback look good.

Key Players for the Bills: Fred Jackson (RB), Marshawn Lynch (RB), Donte Whitner (S), and Lee Evans (WR).

Predicted finish in division LAST

The Miami Dolphins are a helter skelter type of team. From week to week you really don’t know what you are getting. They are obviously coached well and they have talent at a lot of positions. They made many additions that make them intriguing to me this season. I think they can make a serious run at the division title and if they get hot they can make a run at the conference title as well. To do this they will need a lot of luck and almost no injuries.

The 10 Best College Running Backs in History

Anytime you would like to start a good argument among sports fans, just offer up your list of the Best 10 of anything of all time. I promise at least one person will not agree with your list, and try to top it with theirs. Today I am going to list the best 10 college running backs of all time.

I am a stats guy so I look at yards and touchdowns. But I also look at impact on the game. So here is my own list of college football's best running backs of all time. You may not agree with my list, but just remember I am right and you are wrong!

1- Tony Dorsett was a Heisman winner in 1976 at Pitt. He also was the first college running back to rush for over 1,000 yards in all 4 seasons he played. He had 1,133 rushing attempts for 6,082 yards and 58 touchdowns. Anthony Drew Dorsett was astonishing for a smaller running back at 5-11 and 185 pounds. But he was a speed demon, seldom if ever being run down from behind. After helping Pitt, win a national championship he went on to become a pretty good pro back for the Dallas Cowboys. He is in both the college and pro football hall of fames.

2- Ron Dayne was just a dominating power back for Wisconsin for 4 seasons. When he graduated, Ron "The Great Dayne" owned the NCAA career rushing mark. Ron Dayne is in my opinion the second best college running back ever. He rushed for 6,443 yards and 63 touchdowns. He won the Heisman Trophy in 1999 and is one of 4 players to win the MVP of the Rose Bowl, twice.
