It Finally Happened...Rondo Found A Jumpshot

I have been saying for the past two seasons that Rajon Rondo would be the best point guard in the business if he found a jumpshot. Well last night America got a glance at how dangerous it would be if Rondo could knock down a jumper with consistency.

The Last Ride For Kevin Garnett

Saturday could very well be the last time we see Kevin Garnett hoop. That is a scary thought but it could become a reality depending upon the path the Celtics try to take. Let's keep it 100... The C's need to get a little younger and start preparing for a future.

The Point Guard Conundrum

If you ask basketball stans who is the best Point Guard in the league, you will get a variety of answers. Some would say that’s easy Derrick Rose is the MVP, therefore he is the best. Others would argue for guys like Russell Westbrook, Chris Paul, Deron Williams, and even Rajon Rondo.

The reality of the situation is that in the NBA, a point guard has become somewhat obsolete over the past decade and a half. The 1990’s were dominated by the Chicago Bulls and they didn’t have a premiere point guard. They basically used the point forward or shooting guard at the position. If you look at the turn of the century the Lakers have been dominant and they have also done it without a legitimate point guard. So the question presents itself, “Is having a point guard on the floor necessary?” I mean seriously if teams can win championships without one, should the position have so much bearing.

Last night as I was watching the Oklahoma City Thunder play the Memphis Grizzlies there was a debate going on amongst a few of my twitter followers. It really took a turn and started to become hilarious as Russell Westbrook kept handing the game back to the Grizzlies by taking one bad shot after another. The guys I follow on twitter were going in hard and all I could do was sit back and laugh as I wanted to see the result of the mayhem.

Everybody Loves Raymond Felton

Having been around Carolina Basketball for the past 20 years there was one thing that I was sure of and that was the fact that Raymond Felton was going to be a star in the NBA. The man had a game that everyone had to love. He could shoot, he could pass, and boy could he defend. He had a knack for making everyone around him better.

The young man has been in the league since 2005. He was considered to be the third elite point guard in that draft along with Chris Paul and Deron Williams. But something happened to Raymond Felton…You guessed it, he went to NBA purgatory AKA the Charlotte Bobcats.

This is incredibly cruel to fans of the Charlotte Bobcats, because it smacks of the usual nonsense that fandoms outside of MAJOR markets have to deal with, consistently. That their finest players cannot wait to get out of town, and into a metropolis where parking is something you plan out a decade ahead.
