Ok Now Its Time For Dessert: That's Right College Basketball Is Here

Everyone who knows anything about me knows that my love for football is second to none. I am that dude who will drive 10 hours to watch a high school football game if it is going to be worth anything. My love of the game goes further back than I can remember but the purity at which it is played on all levels is like watching a beautiful portriat being painted by a master artist.

The Five Best Players In The NBA Today

With the lockout going strong, it made me wonder if the NBA were to have to play games with the owners and coaches in their current state, who would be the five best players. Technically they are the only real players left in the NBA so it is the only time they may be arguably the league's best. I know you think this is a stretch and it is, but since last nights Monday night football game was one of the worst I have watched in some time, I figured we could all use some intrigue and comedy to our day today.

5. Patrick Ewing

Every good team needs a big man. The only big man that comes to mind that might still be able to make it up and down the floor right now is Patrick Ewing. I doubt Pat has a lot of post up left in his body, but he can still fill it up on the baseline if he needs too.

The Reality Of No NBA Is Finally Setting In

Yesterday ESPN released the last of its top 500 list and twitter went a buzzing. Many people were debating the issue of where their favorite players were and others were contemplating why some younger players were ranked very high without necessarily proving themselves.

The excitement got me primed up for an NBA season, because that’s what lists are supposed to do. However this list only made me feel a bit empty inside. How can I even begin to debate whether or not Carmelo Anthony is a top ten talent in the NBA if there might not even be a season to uphold my argument?

With all of the young talent in the league right now, it’s a shame that the NBA can’t get right. The young men who entered the draft early don’t have a home, nor do they have income that they were expecting. They are sitting in limbo waiting on the opportunity to earn their wealth. Hopefully these young men are back at their institution of learning and obtaining their college degrees. This lockout should help instill the fact that basketball will not be there forever.

Memo To The NBA ... The Fans Want Basketball

If last night wasn't an idication that the fans of the NBA players want basketball, then nothing is. Carmello Anthony organized a pro am pickup game in Baltimore that had everyone buzzing last night and lines backed up in his hometown Baltimore as far as the eyes can see.

The big game was made up fo two teams, The Melo League and the Goodman League. Team Melo was made up of NBA players and a few other guys took on Baltimore's finest including the scoring machine Kevin Durant. The big matchup, Durant vs. Lebron was put on display and neither guy was a bit disappointing. Both Durant and James looked to have been playing a lot of basketball.

Melo did his thing and Chris Paul was his normal scoring and distributing self.
