Tiger Woods has teased us all of the majors this year as he has been in the lead or near the lead when the weekend began. The sad reality is that he should have won three majors this year but he can’t get out of his own way.

A lot of people in America and the rest of the world are engaged in wishful thinking these days regarding Eldrick T. Woods. To hear them tell it, he has shanked one of his greatest attributes on a golf course: INTIMIDATION. No longer, they say, will others shiver at just the thought of Tiger wearing red on Sunday.
So Woods has eternally lost his big-and-bad ways?
I'm not buying it, and neither should you.

The PGA Tour has decided to “randomly” pair Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson together for the first round of the Doral WGC Cadillac Championship. Interestingly enough the two of them were rarely ever paired together on the opening day of tournaments, either by decision or random draw.
The PGA Tour is desperate for ratings, and they have to figure that Tiger and Phil may need each other to produce some magic and create a premier group pairing pre weekend. Also the way that each of them has been playing; they may not make the cut either. Right now each of them are playing like weekend hacks. Well not exactly but on PGA tour terms breaking par seems to happen every three rounds with each of them. Quite frankly they are both headed in the wrong direction and there doesn’t seem to be any light at the end of the tunnel.
I gave everyone my thoughts on Tiger Woods as he has made his efforts to reinvent himself. Phil Mickelson on the other hand has more of an excuse than anyone on the planet to play bad. His wife is battling cancer. His mother is battling cancer. He is battling arthritis. Everything around him is appearing to be in a state of crisis. As more good news about his family continues to surface, maybe some inspired play will come along with it.

Everyone wants Tiger Woods to be a better man, but everyone wants Tiger the Champion to come back. Tiger Woods has lost his swag because he is not himself. Problems aside, Tiger Woods is was great because of force of invincibility. Tiger Woods was great because he was greedy. If he wanted something, he took it and he didn’t worry about the consequences. Whether it was women, cars, property, or golf tournaments, Tiger could flip a switch and go get anything he wanted and make it happen.
Since his incident he is trying to be something that he is not. You don’t have to be a great person to be a mega star. Everyone wants you to be something that you are not. Be you. That is what made you different. Your cloak of invincibility has been torn and you are acting like a mark now. I need to see that look again. That look that says I am Tiger Woods and the world is mine.
