Why The Buffalo Bills Look Like The Bills Of Old Again

At the beginning of the season there was no team more exciting to watch than the Buffalo Bills. They were winning and doing it in a fashion that had me convinced that they had turned the corner.

NFL Week 4: The Good, The Bad, The Ugly

The fourth week of the NFL season did not disappoint. The featured match up of the week was however ruined by a Michael Vick injury but for the most part the action in the games was as good as it gets. Some of the teams in the NFL have some serious problems while others are having an identity crisis.

Today on BCSOM we will take a look at the good teams, the bad teams, and the ugly play that has taken place in the NFL up to this point in the season.

The Good:

The New York Jets. The Jets up until this point has been better than I thought they would be. Everyone knew their defense was good but their success has been a direct result of the maturation of Mark Sanchez and the offense. Sanchez has been great so far in the season. He is amongst the league leaders and has spread the ball around wonderfully to his teammates. They can only get better on offense with the addition of Santonio Holmes next week. Also if they can continue to run the ball the way they have, Dallas, Texas may be in their immediate future come February.

The Houston Texans. The Texans have a good team. They are probably the most complete team in their division. Defensively they could improve in their secondary but for the most part they have been as steady as she goes with how they play the game. They have incredible depth on their offense and probably the best defensive line in the game today.

2010 BCSOM Fantasy Football Draft Guide - Running Backs

Now that you have gotten your quarterback situation under control today we are going to discuss the beasts of the fantasy draft. That’s right we are talking running backs. While you are looking for a running back there are three things to keep in mind. First of all do they score touchdowns? The reason is touchdowns are worth 6 points in most leagues. That is the most points you can get on any one play in fantasy on offense. Secondly do they gain a lot of yards per game? In fantasy football you get 1 point per 10 yards rushed for so you want to make sure that your runner gets close to a hundred yards per game.

The goal is to get a minimum of 10 points per game from your running back. Finally is your guy versatile. Versatility is key here because it gives you options. If your running back will be involved in the passing game, or even the return game, it is a plus. Touchdowns are touchdowns and any way your guy can score them you should take it.

Below I have compiled a list of the top 20 running backs to grab in the fantasy draft.

AFC EAST: Will The Jets Bust or Boom

For the next few entries, I have decided to spotlight each division in the NFL. We will analyze who will be the champion before the season starts. We will look at coaching, players, front office, and fanfare to determine which team will come out of their division and contend for their conference championship. Today we will start with one of the toughest divisions in football. The AFC East is made up of the Buffalo Bills, Miami Dolphins, New England Patriots, and the newly rejuvenated New York Jets.

The Buffalo Bills show up with a very limited roster. They have many holes on offense and defense. They are clearly the weakest team in the division. They don’t have a solid contributor at the quarterback position and they will be depending on a slew of unproven wide receivers to make a below average quarterback look good.

Key Players for the Bills: Fred Jackson (RB), Marshawn Lynch (RB), Donte Whitner (S), and Lee Evans (WR).

Predicted finish in division LAST

The Miami Dolphins are a helter skelter type of team. From week to week you really don’t know what you are getting. They are obviously coached well and they have talent at a lot of positions. They made many additions that make them intriguing to me this season. I think they can make a serious run at the division title and if they get hot they can make a run at the conference title as well. To do this they will need a lot of luck and almost no injuries.
