Thursday Night Primetime... The Panthers Have Come A Long Way

Just a few years ago you would have never expected to see the Carolina Panthers playing in a primetime game against the New York Giants. In fact you would have been hard pressed to see them playing on anything but Fox NFL Sunday (that's if you live in that market)

2012 Breaking Down The Divisions: NFC SOUTH

Not many divisions are as good as the NFC South. A division once noted as one of the worst in the league has now become a perennial power in the NFL. There are many good players in this division and I

Its Tebow Time, Put Up Or Shut Up

Quite frankly I am glad Tim Tebow is finally getting his chance to play. I get tired of hearing about what people say a person can or cannot do. The only real way to tell if they can produce is to put them in the game. Some people just aren’t practice players. Every coach I have ever had has told me that I was one of the worst practice players they have ever seen, but when the lights come on, something comes out of me and I figure it all out.

Maybe Tebow is that guy. Maybe he will be what some thinks he will. He may have something that experts can’t measure, “the will to win”. He has obviously been a winner most of his life. All the man does is motivate the people around him. You can take it to the bank that his teammates are rooting for him to be successful. The media has painted a picture of him making him appear holier than thou and quite frankly the second coming. However other portions of the media have painted him as overrated and cumbersome.

This factor alone has made him the most adored and also one of the most hated athletes in the history of sports. No one has a neutral opinion on Tebow. Let’s be frank, white America loves the man. He has the number one selling jersey in the NFL and he hasn’t done a thing yet to earn that right. He is the son every woman wants and the man every dad wants to marry his daughter.

No Room For Tattoos And Piercings, You're The Face of The Franchise Cam Newton

Very seldom do you see an owner put a stipulation on a star player but it appears that Jerry Richardson has taken that leap. Word is that Richardson has told Cam Newton not to get all tatted up and piercing crazy. Richardson say's he needs Cam to stay as marketable as possible to remain the face of the franchise.

My question is why even ask the man or present anything to him like that? Cam to my knowledge doesn't have any tattoos. So why would an owner even present that to him. I know immediately someone will throw the race card out but the stigma is that when athletes get money they get millions of expressions tattooed on their bodies.

Quite frankly though when I think of tattoos, I think of Chris "Birdman" Anderson or any one on the Denver Nuggets basketball team at the moment.

The fact is that, over the years, Richardson has drafted and signed plenty of players who have tattoos and piercings, including tight end Jeremy Shockey.  Apparently, Richardson is willing to tolerate those things when it comes to men who won’t become the face of the franchise.  For someone like Newton, whom Richardson said has “athletic ability unlike anything that I have seen in quite a few years,” Richardson presumably wants him to do nothing that would potentially alienate the mainstream paying customers.

Cam Newton Goes H.A.M. At Fan Fest

For those that didn't think Newton could play under center, well maybe he has just shown you he has an upside. Today in the first Panthers full scrimmage, Newton completed two touchdowns and read the defenses well during his sessions.

It looks like he will start as the number two guy, but if he keeps getting better, he will not be there very long. Here is a look at one of the long touchdown passes to David Clowney.
