
Even though the Knicks have sputtered some during the end of the season, it is apparent what Carmelo and Amare mean to the Knicks. The key to the Knicks success starts and ends with Melo. Interestingly enough statistically, Melo is doing as much if not more than he has with the Nuggets and it’s just a matter of the Knicks finding a bonefide scorer who can handle and distribute the ball accordingly while coming off the bench.
Now, after losing six games in a row, the Knicks have gotten five straight wins. They are gaining momentum and as the playoffs are beginning they are looking more and more comfortable together.
Like most Knicks fans, I was about to give up on the Knicks as they were dropping game after game for that rough stretch. Watching them play was frustrating as they would lead the entire game and then implode in the latter stages of the fourth quarter. Most of the problems did begin to occur when Chauncey Billups was injured and missed a few games. This injury might have actually saved the Knicks season as Toney Douglas was given more responsibility.
