The Knicks Big 3... It's Just Not The One We Imagined

The Knicks put together their own Big Three this summer, but not the big three that has been talked about since Carmelo’s wedding. The Knicks acquired Tyson Chandler after using their amnesty clause on

This NBA Season The Best Player In The League Won't Be Lebron or Kobe

The debate about Lebron and Kobe really shouldn’t even be a debate. Kobe has held the throne up until the last couple of seasons when Lebron became the clear superior athlete. Yeah Lebron has been a monster his entire

Memo To The NBA ... The Fans Want Basketball

If last night wasn't an idication that the fans of the NBA players want basketball, then nothing is. Carmello Anthony organized a pro am pickup game in Baltimore that had everyone buzzing last night and lines backed up in his hometown Baltimore as far as the eyes can see.

The big game was made up fo two teams, The Melo League and the Goodman League. Team Melo was made up of NBA players and a few other guys took on Baltimore's finest including the scoring machine Kevin Durant. The big matchup, Durant vs. Lebron was put on display and neither guy was a bit disappointing. Both Durant and James looked to have been playing a lot of basketball.

Melo did his thing and Chris Paul was his normal scoring and distributing self.

Carmelo Anthony Flying Solo Against Boston's Big Four

The Knicks and Celtics series has taken a twist as two of New Yorks big three have gone down with injuries. The Knicks are used to playing without one of their three in most cases as the majority of their games have been played with one missing. However they haven’t been limited to only one player remaining until this series with Boston. Billups went down in game one with an ankle injury and Stoudemire went down in game two with back problems.

Melo has done all that he can to keep the Knicks in the game but overcoming these odds will be rather difficult as he takes the floor with four guys that no one else in the league even knew before this season.

Everyone knew that Melo would not be held to a minimal 15 points all series as he is an offensive machine, but it is apparent that the Knicks may need to adapt to what they have and just attack the rim. The lack of production in the post is going to require them to attack to keep pressure on the defense, otherwise Boston’s age will not become a factor in the series. Melo attacked the rim viciously in game two and he reaped the benefits of a player who is without a doubt a potent scorer. He made many trips to the line and pounded the boards like a man possessed.

Is Toney Douglas The Difference Maker For The Knicks

Even though the Knicks have sputtered some during the end of the season, it is apparent what Carmelo and Amare mean to the Knicks. The key to the Knicks success starts and ends with Melo. Interestingly enough statistically, Melo is doing as much if not more than he has with the Nuggets and it’s just a matter of the Knicks finding a bonefide scorer who can handle and distribute the ball accordingly while coming off the bench.

Now, after losing six games in a row, the Knicks have gotten five straight wins. They are gaining momentum and as the playoffs are beginning they are looking more and more comfortable together.

Like most Knicks fans, I was about to give up on the Knicks as they were dropping game after game for that rough stretch. Watching them play was frustrating as they would lead the entire game and then implode in the latter stages of the fourth quarter. Most of the problems did begin to occur when Chauncey Billups was injured and missed a few games. This injury might have actually saved the Knicks season as Toney Douglas was given more responsibility.
