At the beginning of the season there was no team more exciting to watch than the Buffalo Bills. They were winning and doing it in a fashion that had me convinced that they had turned the corner.

For the past 10 years there haven’t been anything good to cheer about in Buffalo or Detroit. Since the great days of Barry Sanders and Thurmond Thomas, these two teams have been obscure at best. Well all of that has changed in 2011. These two teams have finally found themselves in the mix early in the season and neither looks as if they are going to fade anytime soon.
Both are headed by coaches that I personally know well. The Lions are headed by Jim Schwartz who is a feisty energetic coach, who relates well with the players. Schwartz spent some time coaching at my alma mater North Carolina Central University as a defensive backs coach in 1991 and 1992. He was always fun to be around because of his love for the game and his passion about his alma mater Georgetown University.

Buffalo Bills
The Buffalo Bills are undefeated. You heard me correct, they are undefeated. The fear of the Bills is starting to get real out here in the football world. If I were to have told you that the Bills would be one of the undefeated teams in the NFL, knowing they were going to have to face the Patriots in the first three games you would have probably had me checked into a loony bin.

For the next few entries, we will be breaking down the divisions. We will analyze who will be the champion before the season starts. We will look at coaching, players, front office, and fanfare to determine which team will come out of their division and contend for their conference championship.
Today we will start with one of the toughest divisions in football. The AFC East is made up of the Buffalo Bills, Miami Dolphins, New England Patriots, and the rejuvenated New York Jets.
Buffalo Bills
The Buffalo Bills show up with a very limited roster. They have many holes on offense and defense. They are clearly the weakest team in the division. They don’t have a solid contributor at the quarterback position and they will be depending on a slew of unproven wide receivers to make a below average quarterback look good.
