The Dallas Cowboys Have The Worst Offensive Line In The NFL

As I have watched preseason football games this year I have noticed that there are a few teams with suspect offensive line play. Some teams standout because they are high profile teams. Others are just building on what they had a year ago and you can see the light at the end of the tunnel.
So far this preseason though the Cowboys and the Jets both have quarterbacks that are running for their lives. They also have running backs that haven’t seen the light of day to even look like they might break a long run.
The Cowboys situation appears to be much worse than the Jets however. Tony Romo won’t live past week three unless the Cowboys situation improves drastically. The Cowboys mortgaged their offensive line a few years ago and they just never have seemed to rebuild after letting so many former pro bowlers go.
There was a time when you had four legitimate pro bowlers blocking for the Cowboys and now there isn’t anything that looks like it may be toilet bowl worthy in the front five for the Cowboys.
I challenge you to name just one member of the Cowboys offensive line. Chances are the only name you know is former first round pick Tyron Smith from USC. Everyone used to laugh when Flozell Adams would get a false start and kill a Cowboys drive but I am almost betting that Tony Romo would rather have him than anyone in front of him right now.
Bill Callahan has his hands full as he has to make this work. There are guys who are hurt and they weren’t household names. Imagine his pain as the Cowboys start to look for guys who can replace them.
Seriously would you want a guy who came in off the street to protect your big money players in that backfield? Dallas has some serious issues to resolve up front and last time I checked, Montre Holland, Corey Procter, and Andre Gerard were available. Even when they were bad, they weren’t as bad as these guys are.
All I know is if things don’t change, the Cowboys are in a world of trouble this year.
Funny thing is they added depth in every category but offensive line. Sometimes the more things change, the more they stay the same.
