Gregg Popovich The Master Motivator

In watching the last couple of series in the Western Conference there is one thing that sticks out like a sore thumb. There are a few things that are questionable but one thing is for sure, Gregg Popovich is the best coach in the West. Seriously if you give him a couple of years in San Antonio as a free agent, you can almost guarantee getting paid somewhere else.
Pop has done a great job taking guys like Danny Green, George Hill, and Gary Neal and turn them into household names. Even this year Boris Diaw came to the Spurs overweight and sluggish looking. Now he looks fit and highly motivated.
It's not hard to get up for a game if you are motivated. It's not hard getting up and going to work if you love your boss and you know your boss has your back. The Spurs play for Pop as if he is trying to save his job. He gets guys to embrace what they do well and incorporates it into the grand scheme of things.
He always seems to know what to say to get the troops motivated. Now it appears as if the Spurs are the better team in the Western Conference Finals. Popovich getting guys and giving up very little makes me wonder why he is often overlooked as an elite coach by most. Not many guys are willing to send guys like Richard Jefferson packing and settling for guys that aren't household names yet.
You can see why Tim Duncan is joined at the hip of his coach. I would be loyal too if I were him. All he does is keep motivating what he has to coach. Despite having the best record in basketball this year, no one was talking about Popvich's Spurs. Now people can't stop talking about them.
Stay Breey ~ I'm Out!
