The Heat Are Finally Becoming What We Thought They Would Be

Amongst all of the foolish talk of the individualism of Jermey Lin, one thing has gone under the radar for the past few weeks. The Miami Heat are streaking. That's right, with the beatdown the Spurs suffered at the hand of the Trail Blazers last night, the Miami Heat now have the best record in the NBA.

The funny thing is they are doing it and no one even seems to notice. They aren't just winning though, they are beating their opponents down to mere mortals. The teamwork that the Heat are demonstrating is fun to watch. No one appears to care about individual stats, they just care about winning. That in itself is the recipe for a championship.

Every night there may be a new leading scorer and often times either Wade or James may finish third or fourth in scoring in the lineup but they aren't playing badly, they are just sharing the ball. During this seven game run, the Heat have been playing out of their minds. They are getting solid play from Chris Bosh, Norris Cole, and Udonis Haslem. They have also picked up production off the bench as Mario Chalmers and Joel Anthony are providing stellar play.

Funny thing is this Heat run has gone virtually unnoticed as they have beat down their opponents by at least twelve points during the seven game run. The Heat seem to like it that way as the basketball world has centered around the play of Jeremy Lin. All the Heat has done is just be great. It appears they have figured out how to play together and with Lebron learning to play in the post, the Heat are now officially a problem.

The Knicks and the Heat are on a collision course this week and that should provide us with a gauge of how good Jeremy Lin really is. Funny thing is, Wade and Lebron have played so well the first three quarters, they have barely played in the fourth quarter during this seven game run. It has essentially hurt their season averages, but they will be fresher down the stretch for it so it is for the good of the team.

Take note NBA, I think this team is for real. Maybe it will be the year of the Heat. Question is, does the season get an asterisk beside it since it's not a full NBA season? We will let the critics decide.
