The Seattle Seahawks Might Just Be For Real

It seems that week after week the Seahawks just keep finding ways to win. Some of their wins have been controversial but the one consistent thing the Seahawks have going for them is that they can get after the quarterback and they have the most physical running back in the game.

The Seahawks made some controversial moves this past off-season. They drafted a player that most people thought they could have gotten in the third or fourth round with their first pick in Bruce Irvin. They also drafted Russell Wilson after they had already given Matt Flynn a huge contract to be a starter.

The one certainty about a Pete Carroll coached team is that he believes in competition and depth. He will not leave any rock unturned as he even brought in Terrell Owens to compete for a receiver position to see if the thirty-eight year old still had anything left in the tank.

Russell Wilson was critisized for being to short and many said he would never be a starter in this league. Wilson is making those who passed him up look foolish and those that doubted his ability looking for things to critisize. The fact remains that his football IQ makes all the difference in his ability to lead the young and talented Seahawks.

Yesterday's game was a coronation of the Pete Carroll style of play as the running game was stuffed most of the day, but the defense kept them close and allowed Wilson to work his magic down the stretch. The rest of the league has been put on notice as the Seahawks will no longer be that pushover team that will give you a guaranteed win.

If you are going to beat the Seahawks you better bring it...
