Last night Shady McCoy put on a clinic on the cutback run. Good runners will make the opposing teams have discipline when they play defense. The beauty of a cutback runner is simple because they make the defensive ends slow down and play run first and pass second.
The Philadelphia Eagles sometimes forget that they have a franchise running back who can help out the most electric quarterback in the league. Well someone must have reminded Andy Reid at halftime of last nights game as Michael Vick had gone through at least five car accident type collisions in the pocket before halftime.
Things were so bad that NBC reported to the public that Vick was wearing a vest made of military grade kevlar. Most people didn't know that Vick started wearing the vest last season and then he got rid of it before injuring his ribs in the preseason requiring him to put the vest back on.
With the amount of collisions that Vick has endured this season already, the Eagles may want to consider some air bags to help ease the pain as well. Jokingly so, the air bag they need to deploy is Shady McCoy. When Shady gets on track running the ball, it makes teams change their approach against the pass. Now on first and second down, playaction has a purpose and DeSean Jackson becomes relevant again.
It seems like the offensive genious has decided to return to basics and has allowed the real Slim Shady to Please Stand Up for now.
