Every now and then I get an email, a comment or some requests to do rumors and report bad news. Scandals happen every day and there are people who report them. I am a former athlete and a fan of all things sports. So personally I like to keep it about the sports when I am writing.
Honestly I don't care who cheats on who, or who did what to who, or even how many times you have been arrested or placed in jail. All I care about is what you are doing on the field or court of play. Seriously TMZ has a handle on who is doing what. It's nice to get the hits on your website but honestly you are just regurgitating what we already know. Is that really blogging? Honestly do you think that people even noticed what you wrote?
Sure shock value sales and people want to know that Glen Rice slept with Sarah Palin. They also want to wonder if Deion slept with a 19 year old girl with the assistance of Pacman Jones. There are a 100 million websites who will run that story and Google will lead you to every single one. Funny thing is, you could have 90 million of those websites with the exact same information, and 89 million, 9 hundred thousand will never even get a mention. It's funny how those things come to fruition but it is what it is.
If you want to know how I feel about most of those things follow me on twitter. I am honest and open about those things on there. Most of that stuff is for Twitter and Facebook anyways. Hell I will even go in on topics on there that I wouldn't even think about blogging about. Honestly when I declared my writing format, I said it would be all about the sports. Now if your scandal is sports related, then that is a horse of a different color.
Maybe I'm just on a rant, but when I go to 5 websites in a row, and they all have the exact same picture, information, and story, it saddens me because there are so many things out there to be written about and they chose to sell their soul.
Hopefully someday the overlooked will get the attention they deserve. There are plenty of good websites out there who do it right. Check my blogroll. They are there because there is no danger of catching slander on what they write. Granted I might not always agree with them 100% but at least I know what they are writing is genuine.
That's enough of a rant today.
